FILE SUBMISSION
1.-How do I submit my artwork files? |
1,- You need to register in the website in order to upload files.
2.- Once you registered, login and click "MY FILES" button the file uploading screen will display in your browser. Use the "browse" button to select the file you want to upload. After selecting the file click the "Upload" button.
|
You will also be notified of the upload result, and you'll see a thumbnail of the uploaded file to confirm you that we received your file.
|
2.-File uploading is very slow why? |
There are several situations where you can have a slow upload speed, the main reason though, is your connection speed. DSL and other high speed internet connections are recommended. If you submit very large files using dialup, pages may timeout expire and abort upload. Other reasons we've found for slow uploading is in unsecured wireless connections where the user is not aware that someone else is hanging in his network. Network traffic can also reduce uploading speed. If you need to upload a very large file (i.e. a book for printing) we can support you by giving you FTP access, email sales@copyworldinc.com if this is the case. |
You can also use our TOLL-FREE phone : 800-690-COPY or call us , Phone : (510) 666-1000
|
3.-How do i know Copyworldinc received my files ? |
We automatically generate a thumbnail of the uploaded artwork, so, to verify that we received your artwork, just click "MY FILES" button and thumbnails will be displayed from the most recent one to the oldest (unless artwork expired). |
4.-I can't preview the file i've just uploaded |
There are several reasons to cause preview to fail: a.- Corrupted files i.e. your file was submitted but lost data or got corrupted in the way b.- If your file is multilayer our preview component cannot generate the thumbnail because there can be fonts and images embedded in the layers, so the file needs to be "flattened" . This can happen with EPS and PDF formats more often. c.- File proportions can generate a hard to distinguish thumbnail, i.e. a business card graphic template (3.5 x 2) contained in a 8 x 11letter size page
|
5.- I placed a order and uploaded my files, what's next? |
We need to know which file belongs to the front and to the back of the ordered items, in order to do that, click "SEND YOUR ORDER TO OUR PRINTING PRESS" link below the thumbnails in the "MY FILES" section, so , this will send you to a screen where you'll see your order with a list of graphics files (the ones you uploaded), select the files for the front and the back of the items in . your order and click the "SEND TO PRESS" button. This will attach your files to the fron and back of your items and will run the turnaround time clock. Your order process is now finished. |
6.-If i order by phone how can i submit my files? |
You can place a order by phone calling to our front desk sales people, but to avoid delays in processing your order we strongly suggest you to register in our website first, to be able to upload your files. |
You can use our TOLL-FREE phone : 800-690-COPY or call us , Phone : (510) 666-1000
|
7.-Why is my status showing "needs approval" |
Once you finished the process of ordering and submitted your files we need to know which file belongs to the front and given the case to the back, this is called file attaching , If no file attaching has been done, "needs approval" will display in your order status.
Now you just need to click the "needs approval" link where you will see the file uploading screen, go to the lower part of the page where a link named "SEND YOUR ORDER TO OUR PRINTING PRESS" and click it, now, you'll see your order details to assign artwork to your ordered items. If your order has several items, attach files to all the items and finally click the "Send to Press" button. Besides attaching the files to your order, in this moment you are starting the turnaround time for your order (just remember our turnaround time policy). Read below to learn our turnaround policy .
|
8.-Multilayered graphic\s |
If your artwork is layered, chances are that our thumbnail converter fails if your file has fonts and images embedded in them. The thumbnail converter can't tell which graphic to display and also, when we process your artwork it's possible that we can't process it if the fonts embedded are not available to us. Your file needs to be "flattened" so it has only one layer. Please check our guidelines to avoid any delays processing your order.
So, most of the times when you don't see a thumbnail of your uploaded file, if the file is not corrupted, check your settings where you generated your artwork and flatten the final file before submitting it to us.
|
To avoid unnecessary delays and/or additional setup costs, please be sure that all of the following guidelines are met:
Artwork size matches the ordered item size.
File is in CMYK format and 300 DPI or better resolution
In Photoshop (and other raster applications), all layers are flattened
In Illustrator and Freehand (and other vector applications), all text are embedded or converted to outlines (EPS).
If your file is not white on all sides, you have included bleeds
In designing your artwork, all critical elements (logos, text and important graphics) are within a safety zone, so cutting can safely be done.
|
10.-File formats accepted |
We accept JPG, TIFF, EPS, PDF files, otherwise your files will be rejected . |
11.-How long do you keep my files ? |
Your files will be kept in our servers for 15 days after submission, after that they will be automatically deleted and a "artwork expired" thumbnail will display instead in the "MY FILES" sector of your account. |
